Effects Of Video Length And Risk Types On The Drivers' Hazard Prediction

Hazard prediction means that the driver can correctly anticipate the potential danger in the road environment and the development of the risk.It has an important influence on the driver's safety.This study is divided into two parts.This study classified the hazard,selected the optimal video length,and then use the eye movement technique,52 novice drivers and 50 experienced drivers' eye movement data were analyzed and investigated systematically the risk types of long and short video of a condition,influence of driving experience and the scene area on the driver's risk anticipation ability.The conclusions of this study are as follows:Study one,at the condition of short video,the hazard in the road environment appears quickly in the driver's view.Experienced drivers compared with novice drivers,found hazard quickly,avoid being involved in the accident.Take the driver's perspective,the risk of a complete presentation is greater than the risk of being hidden in the road environment.In the process of dangerous development,the driver can predict as soon as possible,response to the hazard,and timely lock the location of dangerous sources,spend more time around the hazard.Study two,at the condition of long video,there was no hazard to the driver at the beginning of the road environment,which was later in their sight.Though the driver waited for a long time,experienced drivers can quickly and accurately detect hazard;The driver is more likely to be aware of the danger of being hidden in the road environment,accurately and concerned about the apparent danger,the driver will quickly detected the accident prone area to avoid involvement into the accident.Overall,in the two video length conditions,compared with the experienced drivers and novice drivers,can detect the hazard of road environment quickly.Under the condition of short video,novice driver and experienced driver detect the obvious hazard accurately.The long video conditions,drivers alert to the risks hidden in the road environment the driver in the long waiting process has made good expectations for the high risk areas,the obvious danger judgment more accurate.No matter in long or short video,the driver can timely detect high accident area.
