The Historical Writing Study Of Huang Zong Xi

Huang Zong Xi is an important historian in late Ming and early Qing,his broad and deep knowledge as well as his rich works have a far-reaching impact.Looking back,the academia already had masterpieces in fields of studying Huang Zong Xi’s political ideology,philosophy,historiography and summary of academic history.Also,the academia basically reached a consensus on the views of Huang’s commend for the loyal men.However,besides mentioned the righteous men who revolt against Qing Dynasty,the study of other figures is not systematic and thorough.Therefore,under the background of the changed times from Ming to Qing,this paper takes the various figures built by Huang as an angel of view to make a tentative study of Huang’s historical writing.This paper consists of four parts,the first three parts explains Huang’s historical writing from three sides.First,this paper analyzes why Huang laid special emphasis on recording historical figures.It is because he would like to fill the vacancy of historical events,and contained praise and disparage on history.And as well,by implementing the function of historiography had on administering a country,Huang drew a lesson from Ming’s death through history writing,which also served the later generations.Second,this paper detailedly introduces the figure imagery described by Huang.In his works,he shaped utterly different figure imagery which varied from the monarch of Southern Ming to the loyal men or the powerful and treacherous court officials of the when dynasty,Or even including the lead of the peasant uprising army,the lower class,and the kusano villagers.Through putting figures’ destiny under the background of times change,he used a method of spotting a thing to allow us a better understanding of Southern Ming’s history.Meantime,adding his own reflexive thinking within.Third,this paper analyzes Huang’s historical writing from his historical records’ style,type,and character selection.In orders to roundly reflect figures’ state in changed times,Huang flexibly used different styles and types,as a result,he presented the image of the historical figures in a practical way.However,unavoidably,there was some limitations that made some obscure parts occurred.In a word,by recording various figures of the Southern Ming,Huang deeply rethought the way of being a monarch,a courtier.Meantime,his recordings also initiate the later scholars into thinking about his life choice,that is,Born without an official.
