The temple fair is one of the traditional Chinese folk festivals, which is also one of the important folk matters in Chinese people's daily life.In the past, the study of the temple is mostly the subject of folklore, history and other disciplines, and mainly focused on the cultural changes and the reasons why to change. They tried to elaborate and explain the above things and their geographical choice was mainly in north China and south of the Yangtze River. To find another way,I try to select the N Temple of D City, which is in the northeast region, holding a history of 200 years as a case.I do my research from the perspective of anthropology.Through the origin of the temple, ritual process, organization and management of the temple to explore and survey,I try my best to restore the Northeast Temple. And from the perspective of functionalism and the analysis of the relationship between state power and local culture,I attempt to explain how the folk beliefs represented by the Goddess Temple can exist in the modern high-speed developing age,and hope to lead the academia and government organizations pay more attention to the temple fair of northeast China. This paper contains three parts:The first part is the introduction. It mainly introduces the current study of temple fair at home and abroad.Through combing literature,I find that the study of the temple fair is mostly concentrated in north China and south of the Yangtze River. There is little involvement in the temple in the northeast region, especially the interpretation of temple fair ceremony. In addition, the previous study is mostly from the perspective of history and folklore,I try to do my research from anthropological-ritual perspective to start a detailed study. The second part is the main part of the paper. It contains four chapters. The first chapter introduces the basic information of D city N temple fair, including the origin, geography information and history of N temple fair. The second chapter describes the temple fair ceremony of N temple, including the people pilgrimage ceremony and the temple religious ritual.I try to fully show the ceremony of the northeast temple to the world by my field investigation and participation in the N temple religious ceremony. In the third chapter, the N temple ritual is analyzed from the view of functionalism.I elaborates from the following four dimensions: spiritual function, cultural function, economic function and political function respectively. The fourth chapter mainly expounds the cultural power embodied in the temple rituals and how the government and the local use this kind of cultural power. Then I forecast how the modern temple can be modernized. The third part is the conclusion. This part summarizes the main contents of the article. As a traditional Chinese folk festival, the temple fair should retain its own unique folk customs characteristics, devote itself to the transmission of outstanding folk culture and art and save the folk beliefs. At the same time, the temple fair should conform to the current social development goals, absorb new ideas, and maintain a diversified development.
