| With the increasing development of networking technology, more and more people have been transferring information and communicate with it.However, due to openness and sharing features of the network, the security of the network information has been threatened greatly. It is a common problem that people in the world should raise the network security awareness and prevention ability. The writer of this report translated some of the articles of cybersecurity in Huffington Post into Chinese.Based on the translation, this report is intended to explore the problems and strategies in the translation process. The report consists of four parts – the translation task description, the translation process description, the case analysis and the conclusion. The translation task description part presents the background and features of the task. The translation process description part is an introduction to the specific procedure of the translation. In the case analysis part, analyses are made on the following three aspects: the translation of proper names, technical terms and long sentences.Under the guidance of Functional Equivalence Theory and Reader-response Theory, the report provides solutions to these problems. And further discussions are made on the ways to solve the similar translation problems. In the determination of the Chinese expressions of the proper names, the literal translation, transliteration and annotation are used;in terms of the technical terms, attention are paid to the specific context and the effective use of network resources;in the translation of the long English sentences, the methods of splitting and integration are used and attention shall be paid to the functional equivalence instead of the formal equivalence. The conclusion part summarizes and analyzes some unsolved problems in the translation practice that presents the importance of translation efficiency and the readability of the target text.It is hoped that this report can be helpful for the translation activities concerned. |
