A Study On Culture-specific Words In Xun Shi Ping Hua

Xun Shi Ping Hua was a significant textbook for ancient Korean people to learn Chinese in early Joseon Dynasty.It was written by Korean scholars Li Bian in 1473,when was the early stage of the Ming Dynasty in China.This paper analyzes the culture-specific words in this textbook,which cover vocabularies about value system,appellation culture and imperial examinations.Besides,we discuss these words' cultural connotation and the advantage of textbook which can be used in actual learning process.Full paper has three parts:The first part is phenomenon.In the first chapter,we introduce basic information of Li Bian and the contents of Xun Shi Ping Hua.We also expound the standards of culture-specific vocabularies in paper.Then we review the research development of studies of Xun Shi Ping Hua.Finally,the meaning and methods of this thesis are introduced.The second part is the main part of the thesis,which is divided into three chapters.,from the second to the forth.The second chapter analyzes the culture-specific words in the textbook,which come down to value system,appellation culture and imperial examinations.In the third chapter,we discuss these words' cultural connotation.We think words of value system related to Confucian culture,and words of appellation culture related to the ritual culture,and words of imperial examinations related to the ranking of culture.The forth chapter analyzes the value and function of Xun Shi Ping Hua in the modern education situation.The third part is the conclusion.It mainly generalizes the whole thesis and affirms the great historical significance and cultural value of Xun Shi Ping Hua.By studying the culture-specific words in this textbook,we can see the great cultural connotation in Xun Shi Ping Hua,and get enlightenment for compiling Chinese cultural textbook forthe speakers of the second language simultaneously.
