The Research Of Mei Family Poems In Wenfeng Of Xuancheng During The Ming And Qing Dynasties

As a unity of regional culture and family culture,Mei Family has been a culture originated in Xuancheng,the special cultural area.It was one of the most glorious and bureaucratic families in Southern Anhui during the Song and Qing dynasties.Though the imperial examination was at a low ebb in Xuancheng Wenfeng during the Ming and Qing dynasties,Mei Family made valuable contributions in literature,arts,natural science,etc.The diversity of Mei Family culture was flourished through the poetry.Except for some rigid and stereotyped identities,like dramatists,calligraphers,painters,and astronomers,the family members were also famous for their poetry,which they regarded as their first and foremost family affair.They create a great deal of excellent poetry works and have a great influence on the scholar circle at that time.Beginning from the Wenfeng Mei Family and its poetry,this paper studies the origin,development,and creation of the Mei during the Ming and Qing dynasties.What's more,the paper highlights the relation between the family and poetry through the overall grasp of the entire family on a macro level and the study of individual literary works on micro-level perspective.This thesis hopes to find the reason to explain the sentence “The good influence of men of virtue will not last more than five generations.”On the introduction part,the paper firstly makes an overview of the research status of the families in the South of Yangtze River during the Ming and Qing period,especially the Xuancheng Wenfeng Mei Family.Then it introduces the importance of the original literature,the significance and objective of the topic.The body part conducts into three chapters: Chapter one makes an overview of the origin and evolution of the Mei Family and discusses its Wanling branch and Wenfeng branch.By introducing the Wenfeng family members,this part analyzes that the MeiFamily was built up by the imperial examination,but they write to bequeath to the family.And then points out the fact that the Wenfeng branch reached its height in the Ming and Qing dynasties,highlights the remarkable position of the poetry in the development of the Mei Family.Chapter two studies the poetry of Mei Family during the Ming and Qing dynasties,and discusses the factors of the Mei Family's literature features from the aspects of geography and family traditions.Chapter three taking the core family members and the family as the breakthrough,it analyzes some poems and studies the effects of the family to their poems.The poetry of Mei family during the Ming and Qing dynasties reflects a style of pure nature and fresh.The comprehension of the family developmental vein helps people to understand the commonness and individuality of Mei family's creation.As it were,the Mei Family during the Ming and Qing dynasties is the epitome of that time.The study of the Mei Family and its poetry fills gaps in family literature research,and also provides a new family perspective for people to study the main character.
