A Report On The Tour-guide Speech Translation

With the development of economy,tourism has been an important part in our life.The tour-guide speech,as a bridge between the guide and tourists,plays a dispensable role in the traveling course,so it is a must to do the translating job to improve the quality of the inbound tourism.Based on the two scenic spots' tour-guide speeches in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,this thesis comes to the conclusion by analyzing the original text that the tour-guide speech is a special text featured in informational function,communicative function,vocative function and aesthetic function.According to these characteristics of the original text,the author comes up with three corresponding translating principles based on the communicative translation and semantic translation theory of Peter Newmark.They are purposefulness,accuracy and consistency respectively.Under the guidance of these three principles,the author gives the concrete translating methods from three aspects based on the author's practical translating practice,including the communicative approach for language usage,the semantic approach for literature expression and the integrated approach for cross-cultural communication.From this,we can see this theory is feasible in concrete translating practice of the tour-guide speech.The main purpose of this study is to expand this area both from theory and concrete translating methods.Only in this way can Chinese culture be spread,and can we make more contributions to the process of tourism internationalization.
