| The theme of my master’s thesis is “Roof tiles research of the building unearthed in the capital Kharbalgas of Uighur Khaganate” and consists of 5 chapters.Chapter Ⅰ includes the main content,thesis arguments,research goals and its importance,research history and geological environment of Kharbalgas city etc.Chapter Ⅱ mainly describes and systematically studies the roof decorations of HB-1,2,3 building remains unearthed in the Kharbalgas city during 2009-2016.The roof decorations are end-tiles,barrel tiles,pan tiles,beast mask tiles etc.Chapter Ⅱ includes roof tiles decorations of the buildings found in the urban city,graveyard and tombs,memorial complex of the Tureg and Uighur period.At this time,Tureg and Uighur period memorials include Mongolian Khermen denjiin remains,Kultegin and Bileg khan’s memorial complex,Tonyukuk’s memorial complex,Ungut memorial complex,Uvurkhavtsalin am3 rd and 5thdurvuljin,Khirgesiin khooloi 6th durvuljin,Khundin khooloi 5thdurvuljin and Por-Bajiin city situated in the Russian land etc.Chapter Ⅳ discusses 3main areas.Firstly,we discuss classification and chronology of the end-tiles.End-tiles of Kharbalgas city of the Uighur period(AD744-840)were unearthed during research and excavation and are compared to end-tiles of Uighur and Tureg period memorials and the roof tile’s transformation and developmental issues are considered.Secondly,patterns and decorations of the pan tiles and barrel tiles of Kharbalgas city are classified and its specifications,functions and chronology are discussed.Thirdly,roof head tiles of the building unearthed in Kharbalgas city are compared to Tang period head tiles and its specifications,functions and chronology are discussed.In the chapter Ⅴ above works are concluded overall and additional conclusions are made. |
