| In recent years,as collaborations have been increasingly deepened,much closer business exchanges and ties have been established between China and foreign countries and exchanges on energy exploration,design and mineral mining have also increased.As a leading domestic enterprise in mining design and shaft construction,our company is committed to seek business opportunities and build up a strong presence in foreign countries so as to export our advanced design,management and experiences to our foreign partners.The signed contract between our company and the Employer,Polyak Eynez,which consists of the agreements of coal mining design and tender for production equipment,annexes and deliverables of Gas Drainage Manual required by the Contract have been chosen to make the translation report.This translation report is based on Skopos Theory.The raw material features a range of related subjects and areas and contains plenty of terms on coal mine design,equipment and machinery,which posed a lot of challenges to the translator's stock of knowledge.What's more,passive sentences,long and complex sentences are frequently seen in original text that requires the translator to understand the text quickly and make translation philosophy accordingly.Based on errors correction and frequent conclusions of the translation process,a general consideration is needed:figuring out the meaning of each term,describing the original properly and adjusting the order of sentence of the translation as well as translating the text for the sake of the reader and choosing words and expressions in connection of context and grammatical theories.The course of translation is all about correcting errors and summarizing experiences.A good and profound understanding of construction translation and coal mine theories can be achieved via drawing lessons from experienced translators,coming up with a creative method of translating,which provides a reference for future translations. |
