This thesis deals with the teaching models and cases of teaching Chinese character writing to foreign students based on the literature research of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages.Methodologies include literature review,experience summarization,case analysis,and error analysis.Firstly,researcher analyses the current situation of Chinese character teaching and writing in China and in foreign countries.Discusses the role of Chinese character in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,difficulties in Chinese character teaching,the traditional methods in Chinese character teaching and lists types of error in teaching Chinese character writing.Secondly,I classify and analyze the errors of Chinese characters in the intermediate and advanced stage.It can be summarized in stroke errors,component errors,whole word errors,and writing order errors.The main components of the errors are deformation and structural disorder.The main causes of these errors are the complex structure of Chinese characters,the negative transfer of mother tongue and so on.According to the different writing level of foreign students combining with an error analysis on the stroke,component,whole word,and writing order,the thesis established three principles in teaching Chinese character writing: firstly,make sure the leading role plays by teachers in the teaching and students' main role;secondly,give the cultural introduction of Chinese character writing to students in teaching;thirdly,confirm a clear requirement.In addition,to establish a foundation for the later case analysis.In the last part of the thesis,researcher conducts a reflection about the teaching cases of Chinese character writing,summed up the experience and harvest of this study.It is proved that the teaching strategies and teaching methods proposed in this paper are helpful to improve the writing level of foreign students.
