Investigation On The Foreign Students' Application Of The Commercial Press Learner's Dictionary Of Contemporary Chinese And The Modification Suggestions For Reprinting

Based on the former researches,by using the methods of document analysis,interview,questionnaire,statistical analysis and so on,this paper investigates and studies the usage of the commercial press learner's dictionary of contemporary Chinese from 30 middle and senior foreign students in Renmin University of China,Communication University of China,Jilin University,Fushun University of Petroleum and Bohai University.The statistic and analysis by questionnaires and interviews show that the commercial press learner's dictionary of contemporary Chinese has some main problems and others,such as imprecise explanation,poor practicability of the example sentence and inappropriate illustration.Through the statistics of the feedback problems from the foreign students and the analysis both of its advantages and disadvantages,this paper offers four suggestions about the republication which are as followings:The explanation should be more precise and exact;the words above students level should be reduced;the illustration should strive for excellence;and the example sentences should be the characteristic of practicability and modernity.There are three values about the investigation on the foreign students' usage of the commercial press learner's dictionary of contemporary Chinese.Firstly,it is helpful to the republication and improvement.Secondly,it makes for improving the edit capability and the application of Chinese monolingual dictionary in our country which is designed for foreign learners.Thirdly,it helps to design and develop the app of the Chinese dictionary which is based on the blueprint of printed dictionary.The construction of teaching Chinese as a second language,no matter linguistic theory,teaching method theory,learning theory,learning theory,textbook writing,corpus and so on are flourishing.Compared with those,the dictionaries have lay behind on the fields of theory study,writing team,quantities and qualities.In other words,the subject construction is far from perfect.Based on the obvious studies,further prove the problems caused by the Commercial Press learner's Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese,try to find more problems from precious words,discover the measures which based on some teaching experience and dictionary usages to put forward reasonable in order to put forward reasonable suggestions which are helpful for “The Commercial Press learner's Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese.”...
