With the development of international communication,English listening plays a more and more important role in daily communication,and the high quality talents with English listening and speaking ability have become more and more popular in the society.This puts forward higher requirements for Listening Teaching in higher vocational colleges.For a long time,the status of English Listening Teaching in higher vocational college education is not optimistic.Listening teaching has always been the most difficult and important part in college English.In this background,this paper takes public English teaching as the research object,aimed at teaching strategies as the research perspective,based on the related theories of schema theory and constructivism learning theory.This paper investigates and analyses the current situation and problems existing in our country's higher vocational education by adopting the methods of literature research,questionnaires and interviews,to explore some effective strategy which could improve listener's listening comprehension,and try to provide reference for the teaching of English listening comprehension in Yangling Vocational and Technical College.This paper selects Yangling Vocational and Technical College as a case study,based on the teaching practice,and in-depth investigation and analysis of students,teachers and teaching strategies.This paper objectively summarizes the present problems existing in listening teaching and analyze the reasons correspondingly.This paper argues that the English listening teaching has the following problems: the problem of lack of teaching equipment;the weakness of teaching staff;the basis of poor students;the musty teaching ideas.On this basis,some measures are recommended.This study focuses on basic strategy,interactive strategy,the combination of listening and speaking strategies,learning strategies and evaluation strategies.The course experiment was conducted for one semester,and the validity of the study was confirmed by comparing the changes of English listening proficiency,English learning interest and English learning methods before and after the experiment.In order to provide some reference and inspiration for the improvement of Public English Listening Teaching in higher vocational colleges,we have to analyze the experiment carefully.The research of this paper not only further complements the research theory of teaching reform in higher vocational colleges,but also has some practical guiding significance for the implementation of Vocational English teaching reform in the same kind of colleges.
