The female is great mother of humankind,is the basis of human survival,and plays an irreplaceable role.However,the female didn't hold up half of the sky or enjoy the equal privileges and positions with the male since man entered the class-divided societies.The female problems are the fundamental problems in the continuation of human species and the development of humankind.Regardless of the past,the present or the future,it is still an important mission to pay attention to the female problems,save and develop women.As an important academic school of the west feminism,western marxism feminism holds an important position and plays an important role in the history of the western femimism theory.This tidal wave of feminism culture comes from the tidal wave of western feminism in 1860 s,which not only comes from the modern western feminism,but also represents the highest level of modern western feminism.Moreover,as a development trend of Marxist theory,western marxism feminism directly comes from the the thought of women's liberation and development put forth by Marx and Engels,and it,together with other femimism theories has formed the source of western marxism feminism theory.The development of western marxism feminism theory has mainly went through three stages by itself.The first stage is from 1960 s to the early 1970 s,during which the theory was developed within the framework of the women's liberation and development theory of Marx and Engels,attaching importance to the critique on capitalist system in some notions,such as production,economic structure,class conflict,and so on.The second stage is from 1970 s to the late 1980 s,during which the theory combining marxism and feminism together,attached importance to the critique on patriarchy and power system coming from it.From 1990 s to the present,In the third stage thistheory have been looking for combining marxism and postmodernism feminism together,forming the materialistic feminism characterized with postmodern,the theory in this period attached importance to the critique on ideology and culture,as well as emphasizing woman identity.Most of western marxism feminism theories put emphasis on escaping from economic determinism of Marx and Engels,and tend to become academic day by day,which have theoretical drawbacks.However,their theories keep pace with the time because of the fact that they pays attention to new laws and characteristics as well as the solutions of the female problems presented in modern western industrial society.These theories have an important meaning in theory and practice for the west feminism movement and the women's liberation and development in China at present.
