On Patrick Modiano Wandering Between "Existence" And "Emptiness"

French writer Patrick Modiano was awarded the 2014 Nobel Prize in literature because he can use the art of memory to call the human destiny which cannot grasp and expose occupation life world.Patrick Modiano is a famous writer in France,since 1968 he has produced more than 30 novels and got numerous awards.His novels are subsequently translated into thirty-six languages.His novels are also translated into Chinese a lot.In Patrick Modiano's works,there are a lot of the content of "imagination",and this kind of imagination is not as same as general sense of literary imagination.It 's about the existence of philosophical thinking and the angle of writing is unique and fascinating.In various interviews Patrick Modiano has revealed that his favorite writer is Bachelard Gaston who is the pioneer of phenomenology "imagine".Through reading and study I can discover Modiano's works are nourished by the image phenomenological theory.This paper tries to use imagine phenomenological theory to explore the Modiano's works of "imagination" and "being" problem.In addition,in Patrick Modiano's works there are a large cavern to the world in the novel and the writing of unpredictability and uncertainty with the deconstruction thoughts.This article also tries to explore the essence of the ideology of "empty" and its associated with "being".The full text is discussed from the following parts.The introduction part of the thesis I comb the research present situation and put forward the innovation of this paper and the research value.First chapter of the paper studies the spirit relation between imagination of phenomenology and Patrick Modiano's works.The meaning of the Bachelard Gaston's imagine phenomenology will be the first to put imagine into the field of phenomenology to regard imagine as a unique phenomenon of human existence.As Bachelard Gaston puts it: "in the imagination philosophy,imagination is existence itself,formed a generated image and the thought of existence".Characters in Patrick Modiano's novels are often caught in the imagination to explore the identity and construct their images.In the imagination of rebuilding themselves,people realize the joy of existence and feel the existence of freedom.Because the exist with imagine factors makes everything no longer a fixed one which shall not change but full of many possibility,which broader life space.This part of the thesis mainly discusses the own existence and the existence of the cosmic space for characters and Modiano'sunique writing about existence of characters,cosmic space,and name of the things.The second part in the Thesis I demonstrate there is freedom and revelry in the works,but also there are deep empty feeling and the sense of crisis from perspective of deconstruction.Modiano's creation period generally is in the 1960 s and this period is the prosperous period of deconstruction.Deconstruction of established authority to explain becomes the main melody of literature thought.The novels also deeply reveals the traces of deconstruction thoughts nourish.Most of the characters in the novel are in life without relying on and in ramble bizarre plot.Plots tend to flow to the unknown with a lot of hazy images.Novels often end up with a kind of "cannot explain the unspeakable" hole.At the same time,the characters view the world through the eyes of detective type,the language of the fragmentation and the lack of consciousness is the same with prospective of deconstruction,which is the world cannot be spoken.In third part,I discusse the Modiano's creation by imagined phenomenology of nourishing create a real world,but doubt the world from the view of deconstruction,making the world "empty" and the internal motivation to swing between the poles.This paper argues that,on the one hand,the reason is because of the particularity of the Modiano's personal experience,his father lives in the"occupation".He is lack of parents' love and everything going on around is full of confused and puzzled.The author hope to go through time in real life.Writing become his way to soothe trauma and help him unload some painful memories in life based on past experiences.On the other hand,in the deconstruction thoughts on impact of age,especially the college experience "situation in the international trend”,he is trying to criticize social reality in avant-garde in art extreme way,by reforming the extreme form of art landscape world of alienation,transforming accumulation by capitalist production of society under the given situation.All of these made in thought and art level to explore the real true become the appeal of the author.In conclusion part,the thesis paper reiterated the significance of writer's unique writing,especially for the meaning of modern people.
