| In modern Chinese verbs,the "given" synonyms play an important component of modern Chinese verbs and use high frequency.However,its comparative study is not deepenough.In this paper,I choose more typical monosyllabicwords(eg,"给","送","献" "捐"and"赠")as the researchobjects.These five words are sometimes interchangeable,and sometimes difference.This paper analyzes and studies from three aspects.First,it compares commonness and differences of its semantic features,grammatical features,and pragmatic features.Second,itsummarizes the characteristics of these five wordsin order to do more in-depth analysis of this type of words.Third,it can supplement the research of modern Chinese verbs and provide reference for teaching Chinese as a foreign language and dictionary compilation.Paper is divided into five parts.First part is introduction.This part discusses the purpose and significant of this paper,determines the research object and content,summaries the status of "giving" verbs in the past researches,and introduces the research methods and corpus sources.This second part compares the semantic features of "给","送,"献,"捐" and "赠".It focuses on the different characters of them.Althoughall these words describetransferring of goods ownership,and the given object is different.This part analysestheir givenobject anddegree of importance.The third part compares the syntactic expression of "给","送","献""捐 "and "赠".It focuses on the structure of double object of them and analyzes the relationship with subject,object,and preposition "to"and "take",It also considerssituation of sentences with those words for further study.When omitsubject and object,whether the sentence is established or not.The fourth part compares pragmatic function of "给","送","献,"捐"and" "赠".First,analyzesthe pragmatic function.It shows that sormewords can be used for spoken language;the others can be used for written language.Second,it indicatesthe usage of these five words mainly followingthe two pragmatic principles,relationship principle and status principle.The last part is summary,sums up the previous four and draws conclusions.This paper comparesthe "given" verbs,strengthen understanding distinction amongof "给""送"献""捐"and "赠".It is not only a simple study of a type of words,but also combines and summarizes the branches of modern Chinese verbs by analyzing the similaritiesand differences between the five words.This paper attempts to make a more in-depth analysis of this kind of words in order to supplement the research of modern Chinese verbs,and at the same time provide reference for teaching Chinese as a foreign language and dictionary compilation. |
