This work comes from Wolves and the Wolf Myth in American Literature, which is written by S.K.Robisch,the writer mainly narrates the different type of the wolf in Chapter one, which includes the Real, the Corporeal, and the Ghost Wolf, according to citing some particular stories which can explain the differences among wolves, people have a series of judgments about them.Wolf biologists and nonfiction are two important topics in chapter two,we can find the characteristics of the wolf works from distinct period,at the same time, the participation of Wolf biologists can make the readers believe that there are some facts in the work and they can analyze the wolf significance in the ecological environment. In the book,a lot of art styles are related to the wolf, such as fictions, myths and movies, the writer lists many models from different views to show the vicious and friendly attitude of wolves, which present the love and hate for wolves. This report is mainly composed of four parts, the introduction, the methods and theoretical guidance of the research, difficulties and description of the translation and summary.Part one includes the resource and creativity of the report and the target and meaning of the report, which can summarize the nature of translation materials, the translator does not find the translation of this book,so she uses this work to make readers know more about the wolf cultures and expand their scope of knowledge. The second part introduces the content and stylistic features of the work.People can recognize the logic and writing features of the text clearly.Part three is the most important one,the description of translation process, which includes preparation, the use of translation theory, analysis of examples and checking, before translating, reading the parallel texts and understand the relevant knowledge are necessary, then choosing the proper translation theory, there, the translator choses functional equivalence theory of Nida,in which the key is to balance the relationship between source language and target language,it emphasizes the translation effect rather than one-to-one transformation in language forms, after that analyzing the sentences under the translation theory and checking.Last part is about the translation experience and the problems that need to be solved,it is not easy for translator to translate the verbs, pronouns and abstract nouns, therefore, analyzing them with semantic equivalence, stylistic equivalence and formal equivalence are importantThrough the translation of this work,I realize that translation is not the shift of code and stack, there are potential and invisible power between the cultures of them they interweave together.Without the accumulation of language, the knowledge of literature and the recognition of cross culture, the excellent translation cannot be finished. So it is a very important process, during the study time, thinking and writhing are necessary for all of us to have a good mentality to face the various translation materials.
