With the rapid development of globalization, finance has taken on an increasingly important aspect in international affairs and China has to learn from a variety of excellent financial models and the valuable experiences of other countries. Thus,it is imperative that there is an abundant need for high quality translation in financial texts and quality guidelines.Embracing the perspective of Functional Equivalence and addressing the reconstruction of long sentences, this practice paper analyzes several chapters in Governance and Risk Management in Taxation to translate. It also discusses the application of reconstructuring long sentences in translating Chinese Financial texts to English. All research must keep in mind the significant difference between the language and logic in the English and Chinese language. This paper reconstructs long sentences by splitting supplementing, and omitting under the auspices of the theory of functional equivalence by Eugene Nida to solve difficulties created by syntactic difference, logistic differences, and image differences. The overall objective here is to strive for functional equivalence which will enhance the translation quality. It would be beneficial if this paper and translation practice can provide experience for translating long sentences in financial text, both theoretically and practically.
