A Summary On The Practice Of Petroleum Experimental Report Translation

With the rapid development of Chinese economy, scientific translation plays very significant role in the communication and mutual study between China and foreign countries. As a branch of scientific translation, petroleum translation embodies the same features of correctness, objectiveness, complexity, high logic and specialty. To improve the quality of petroleum translation has very practical significance.Based on two experimental reports about ESP system, this report focuses on two aspects including description and analysis of the translation process and exploration of judgment standards for scientific translation.The report consists of five chapters. The first chapter is a brief introduction of the texts and their characteristics. The second chapter is a description of translation process. The third chapter illustrates functional equivalence theory and skopos theory used respectively for the process description and judgment standards exploration. The fourth chapter is case analysis including the process description and judgment standards exploration. The fifth chapter is a conclusion of the whole report and the expectation as well as new requirements to all the translators.
