A Practice Report On The Simulated Interpretation Of Yang Jiechi's Speeches At NPC&CPPCC 2013 Sessions' Press Conference

This report is based on the simulation interpretation practice report about the Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi's answering to Chinese and foreign journalists' questions for practical tasks during the two sessions of 2013.The author hopes to sum up her own translation problems during the interpretation process,and proposes the corresponding solution strategies.For the process of two sessions,the translator's conveying message is the country's foreign policy or related rules and regulations.The contents are more formal and rigorous,and sometimes involves political vocabulary and hot events.It is necessary for the translator to familiar with domestic diplomatic situation,so as to have an accurate understanding and grasp of the speaker's discourse content,convey the information more accurately.The report is divided into four chapters.The first chapter briefly introduces the simulation project overview of Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi's answering to Chinese and foreign journalists' questions during the two sessions of 2013,including the background and characteristics of the translation practice task.The second chapter mainly summarizes the process of simulation practice which is divided into pre-translation preparation,translation process and post-translation matters.The third chapter is the case analysis,which focuses on the analysis of the translations from both the language and the inter-language aspects.The translation techniques such as added translation,conversion and some other skills are used to improve the quality of translation.The fourth chapter is the conclusion,which mainly summarizes the problems and shortcomings in the practice of interpreting simulation from the three aspects of interpreting skills,Chinese and English bilingual ability,practical ability,and proposes suggestions from these three aspects.
