A Report On Simulated Simultaneous Interpretation Practice Of Seafood Futures Forum 2017

With the development of globalization,there are more and more exchanges between China and other countries in the world.In recent years,numerous international conferences such as the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Cities,the G20 Financial Summit,the BRICS Summit,the Boao Forum for Asia,APEC,and the World Economic Forum have been held in China.Behind all this are numerous dedicated interpreters.In foreign relations,the role of interpretation services cannot be ignored.Since simultaneous interpretation has the advantage of saving time,it has been the most widely used mode in conference interpreting.Almost all international multilingual conferences and international organizations use SI as a standard interpretation model.Therefore,simultaneous interpretation is adopted in this interpreting practice.This report is based on the simulated simultaneous interpretation of Seafood Futures Forum 2017.It probes into the skills of forum interpretation under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory.The report consists of four parts:Task Description,Process Description,Case Analysis and Practice Summary.Chapter One describes the task and features of the forum in detail,the objectives of the report are also discussed in Chapter One.Chapter Two describes the whole process of interpretation,including task preparation,the process of interpretation and post-task evaluation.The third chapter,with an introduction of the Interpretive Theory and the "Triangle Model" of the theory,elaborates on typical cases worthy to be studied in the interpretation,centering on three notable interpretation skills,namely segmentation,addition and omission.With a detailed analysis of the simulated simultaneous interpretation of the forum,the author has conducted a more in-depth study of forum interpretation,and the guiding role of the Interpretive Theory in forum interpretation.The interpreting practice has proved the importance of the theory,the study of interpretation required theoretical guidance,and the exploration of interpreting skills should be based on theory.
