This translation practice report is based on the translation practice of the story Fairfields,an except from Learning to Dance wrote by Australian female writer Elizabeth Jolly.The practice part is about ten thousand Englishwords translation.The translation part of the report is a summary of the practice and analysis.In this translation report,some problems and solutions,the translation skills used were mainly discussed.The first chapter mainly introduced the translation practice object,the author's background,the author and work introduction and the literature review.The second chapter mainly introduces the process of the translation practice,including mission objectives,analysis of text features and the difficulties encounteredin the process of translation practice,including translation of descriptive sentences and personalized language processing.In the third chapter,there are the solutions to the problems as mentioned in the previous chapter,such as: the use of rhetoric,restructuring and extension are aim to solve the first problem,and amplification and substitution are expected to solve the second problem.The fourth chapter lists the translator's insufficiency and experience obtained in the process of translation practiceand summarizes the translation practice report.
