A Study On "Light And Shadow" And Space Effect In Scene Animation

Scene animation refers to the frames concept where the amination excluded protagonists and only consists of other traditional animation factors.We can also interpret �scene� as " view" and �animation� as �field�."View" is the concept of space,mainly referring to the scenery;"Field" is the story development of a time period.Therefore,the scene animation is the scenery movements in a certain period of time under the lens.Characters in the animation films need independent activity space,which is called �scene�.�Scene� is not isolated from the animation production,and it is an important part of animation creation that cannot be ignored.Various space effects influence people's psychological reactions,and it requires different lighting techniques.Sometimes the lighting in scene animation could be bright or dim,which depends on the development of the storyline.Scene space could be divided into indoor space and outdoor space.Light and shadow endow objects with life,express the atmosphere,and portray the shape of space.Hence,designers should arrange lights based on the shape of light and shadow and pay attention to the unity of scene styles.Through the comparative analysis of many scenes of animation films,this paper explores the role of "light and shadow" in the animation scenes,the changes in the shadow under different angles,and the law of shadow in various light sources.So,it concludes that �light and shadow�,the intangible design element,should not be overlooked by designers.Moreover,taking the shape design of "light and shadow" in the scene as a clue and combining with the changing rules of "light and shadow" in real life,this paper points out that the spatial effect is influenced from layouts of the scene,speeds of the simulation lens,lighting(material,camera),and other factors.At last,this paper focuses on the specific application strategies of scene lighting and shadow in different environments.
