The design of the scene in an animation is usually arranged in the early stage of its overall creation, which is a significant component in the design of the animation and also plays a leading part in the animation. The scene of an animation is based on plot, including the space and any object that are connected with characters. Except the design of characters, what can be seen in a picture belongs to the design of the scene.Colour, as an important visual element, performs a vital role in creating the value for appreciating an animation. The colour design of the scene needs to be applied to the scene of the animation according to the plot. The subjective colour used by the designer will make the animation foll of creativity. The design of light and shadow is a crucial part for the design of the scene in the animation. In real life, if there is no light and shadow, we can’t see any object, nor can we experience the colourful world. What exists in the world is only darkness. In the pictures of an animation, it is the existence of light and shadow that makes a two-dimensional picture take on a three-dimensional effect. Light and shadow is a medium to display the texture and the shape of an object. The design of space in the scene of the animation provides a living space for the characters, which is a means for the designer to develop the animation according to the plot. It also plays a key role in reflecting the psychological space of the characters as well as displaying the imaginary world described by the designer.
