Analysis Of Light And Shadow Design And Creation Of Works In Sand Animation "Dunhuang Love"

In recent years,with the continuous improvement of China's economic level and the rapid development of the Internet,animation gets more ways to disseminate with a wider range of dissemination,the forms of expression of animation have also been diversified developed.Sand animation has experienced more than 60 years since the birth of the European and American regions in the late 1960 s to the present prosperity.Sand animation is an artistic expression form composed of sand,painting,light and shadow,photography,music,literature and other elements.Compared with traditional animation,sand animation not only has certain differences in content and form,but also has great differences in production and has certain experimental characteristics.Using the physical properties of sand to draw a variety of characters and scenes to achieve coherence and artistry in images is of great significance to the development of experimental animation.As a special art of audiovisual language,sand animation not only enables the picture to convey the visual and artistic beauty of the combination of motion and static,but also expresses the creator's thoughts and emotions.Through the perfect combination of production technology and audio-visual language art,sand animation can fully express the emotion of the story while presenting the artistic effect.As we all know,in the art of painting,Light and shadow is an essential element,is a necessary condition for the performance of the picture.Therefore,light and shadow play a decisive role in the picture composition,visual effect and work rhythm of sand animation.The introduction of light and shadow design into the creation of sand animation,not only can make the picture virtual reality,the primary and secondary clear,staggered,but also through the continuous design of light and shadow can create a theatrical artistic effect,so that the picture produces aesthetic freehand,elegant and dreamy visual feeling.Through systematic analysis of the creative features of China's classic sand animation works,it is found that these works combined with Chinese traditional culture have formed an artistic style with Chinese charm in both the story content and the screen expression.Therefore,the sand animation short film "Dunhuang Love" created by the author uses a new visual form to vividly reproduce the Dunhuang murals,and to pass on the traditional culture more intuitively and more vividly.This paper first gives a clear overview of the interpretation and classification of sand animation.Secondly,it distinguishes the concept of light and shadow in sand animation,and then analyzes the importance of light and shadow design on sand animation.Finally,I personally practice it.In order to make a systematic analysis and interpretation of the entire creative process of the sand animation short film "Dunhuang Love".For the future creation of sand animation,it provides systematic principles and methods in visual effects,narrative rhythm,picture composition,emotional expression,light and shadow application,and image transition.
