Primary and middle school students are future and hope of our country.People always place great hope on their healthy growing.Nevertheless,students often confront problems which are from enrollment adaptation or learning environment.Therefore,problems of students' mental health constitute an important part of school education work.In 2002,Ministry of Education of China issued the guidelines of primary and middle school students' mental health education,which mentioned and highlighted primary and middle school students' mental health education as a national strategy.After the issuing of that important document,mental health education began to flourish in primary and middle schools.Government statistics showed that there are more than ninety-nine million and eight hundred thousand primary school students in school in 2016.And there are also fourteen million and three hundred and seventy thousand graduate of the current year.There is not only an accumulative effect of learning can be reflected on these students,but also a state of future mental health can be predicted by their current physical and psychological status.Self-awareness is a consciousness of self and its relationship with environment,including individuals' awareness of themselves and awareness of their relationship with the world around us.Some researchers believe that,in order to keep mental health,we should teach children to aware themselves in the first place.In other words,self-awareness is the premise of self-education.The level of self-awareness is one of the important indicators of mental health.Individuals should seek objective self-evaluation,positive self-liking and healthy self-image.A questionnaire survey and an intervention method were used in the present study.The aim was to probe the relationship between self-awareness and mental health of high-level graders in primary school.In addition to this aim,the effect of 6 times interventions was also explored.The results showed that:(1)The overall performance of self-awareness is acceptable.Especially in theconcrete dimensions,such as behavior,intelligence,and awareness of school and so on,participants showed very positive attitude.Otherwise,in the abstract dimensions,such as subjective wellbeing and so on,participants showed a not so positive attitude.The lowest score was found in the self-evaluation of body and appearance dimension.(2)The high-level graders in primary school always showed a strong feeling of anxiety about learning.In the meantime,almost all of these students showed no lonely or impulse problem.(3)There are general and strong relationships between self-awareness and mental health of the high-level graders in primary school.The higher of the level of self-awareness,there are better of their mental health.(4)The intervention activities successfully promoted and enhanced participants' self-awareness.
