Due to the continued cooperation and development between Chinese and Russia in various fields,the cultural exchange between both countries become more and more important.In cross cultural communication,each nation will have a different ideal of fetish or animal symbol.'Dragon' is one of the important symbols in China and 'Dragon' is also exist in Russian native culture.'Dragon' in Russian is commonly called “Serpent" or "Snake".This thesis compares the different between "Dragon" in Chinese culture and Russia "Serpent",find out the similarities and differences in both countries,then find out the similarities and differences in both countries Dragon‘s figure through myths,legends,and art works.The author uses symbol,type,and connotation of Chinese's "Dragon" and Russian " Serpent " to analyze Chinese and Russian relationship.Finally,the author,being as Russian originally,hope that the comparative study of "Dragon" between both countries will make both Chinese and Russian understand their own culture,especially hope that Chinese people will understand ?Serpent? in Russian,its various forms of expression,and also understand Russian culture.
