Critical genre analysis is a multiperspective and multidimensional model of discourse, which is the development and extension of genre analysis. It mainly focuses on the understanding and interpretation of professional practices, analyzing how a genre is applied to achieve its communicative purpose in a given context.Recently, with constant changes of international relations, people keep a watchful eye on international political news.It is generally ideogenetic information formed from the subjective reflection of the objective facts by news reporters, which makes it especially important for us to get an insight into its political orientations and social ideologies while reading.Making a critical genre analysis of international political news discourses can be favorable to increase the readers' understanding of the genre, drive them to read in a critical mind and enhance their anti-control awareness. It also gives inspirations to teaching, making knowledge integrated with current hot events. In the paper,20 international political news discourses on Hillary Clinton's email scandal are selected from America's Washington Post and British Broadcasting Corporation(BBC).Then an analysis of the linguistic features, common move structures and potential social ideologies of these discourses is made by deploying Bhatia's multidimensional and multiperspective model of discourse and Halliday's systemic functional grammar. It can be concluded that international political news discourses tend to use more verbal processes and material processes;the tense of the discourses is centered on the past tense;the clauses of the discourses adopt more modal auxiliaries of medium and low value and use more unmarked thematic structures. The move structure of these political news discourses turn to be four moves.News reporters' opinions or attitudes toward Hillary Clinton's email scandal are implanted into these discourses, thus achieving the purpose of manipulating the thoughts and views of the audience and further influencing their ideologies.
