According to the Text Typology raised by Katharina Reiss, some texts are characteristic of two or more types of text. The texts that will be analyzed in this thesis are characteristic of both informative text and operational text. The three user manuals are to guide the users to operate the platform. When doing the translation, the passive voice, imperative sentences, and some long subordinate clauses are the difficult points, which need more attention. After analysis, the author finds it is the passive voice that applied most frequently among which mentioned above.Under the guidance of Text Typology, the author defines two translation principles--functional consistency, and accuracy. In the process of translation, the author applies six translation techniques--words supplement, conversion of part of speeches, word management in specific context, conversion of voice, combination and the use of imperative sentences, with the method of classification discussion. It is expected that the report is beneficial both to practice and society, and that the translation version accords with the three major functions of user manual,in order to cater for Chinese reading habits. In terms of practice, less translation mistakes will decrease under the guidance of text typology. From social perspective, the report will have a positive effect on user manual translation, and the translation technique applied will be available to other translators.
