A Practice Report On Sentence Reconstruction In C-E Translation Of Wanda Center Office Building Lease Contract From The Perspective Of Text Typology Theory

The text typology theory was first proposed by German research scholar and translator Kathrine Reiss(1923-),Reiss firstly came up with the text typology theory,which involved in text typology,language functions and translation strategies(Zhang Meifang 2009).Reiss’ s text typology theory has a deep evaluation and standardized significance for translation.Translation refers to the reproduction of the source language’s information by a most natural and most approximate way.Reiss thinks that the text’s type determines the translation’s method,and they are closely related,the translator must know about language features when translating in order to make the text better.Therefore,this paper uses Reiss’ s theoretical results to study informative texts’ sentence structure reorganization in Chinese-English translation under the text typology theory.With the further strengthening of the economic globalization and the further exchanges and cooperation between the world’s political,economy and culture,the contract,as a proof of the rights and obligations of both partners,has increasingly demonstrated its role in promoting economic development,social progress,and safeguarding the world’s democracy and peace.Therefore,it is particularly important to improve the level of the translation of contract texts.This article focuses on the informative type text under the text typology theory,the writer analyzed the Chinese-English sentences structure reorganization problem of the contract text under the text typology theory,and discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the text typology theory in the contract text translation.To sum up,this article took Wanda Center Office Leasing Contract as a research case and conducted deeply research.Contracts are applied languages which involve many different fields.When translating contract language texts,it is necessary to respect the precise,professional and logical features of the texts’ words,meanwhile,we should also understand thesyntactic features of Chinese and English in the style of the contract.There are many Chinese linear layouts of sentences,loose information,and many Chinese short sentences that appear in the process of Chinese to English translation,which leads to the problem of hidden information and so on,the paper aimed at solving those problems and summarizing the corresponding solution based on practice.I hope that the creation of this paper can contribute to the research and translation of contract texts in future.
