The Study Of Bouyei Adposition

There are many researches about parts of speech in Bouyei language.Previous studies have mainly focused on the nature,usage and grammatical functions of noun,verb,adjectives,etc.Adposition is the most important means of expressing grammatical meanings and introducing indirect roles to the predicate.However,the research about Bouyei adposition has so far been blank.Therefore,this study,at the beginning,defines the adposition based on theories about Chinese adposition and the fact of Bouyei language.Then by sorting and filtering the adpositions included in the Dictionary of Xinbian Buyi-Han(edited by professor ZHOU Guoyan),the researcher finds 42 Bouyei adpositions in accordance with the criteria of adpositions.Based on the authentic corpus from field investigation and the Dictionary of Xinbian Buyi-Han and Bouyei Language Changpian Huayu Cailiao Ji,12 circumpositions are sorted out.The researcher does a case study with 54 adpositions,analyzing their type,distribution,syntactic function,semantic and grammaticalization.The structure of the paper is as follows.The first part is introduction.It presents not only the origin,significance,methodology of the research and literature review,but also the status quo of Bouyei language and the source of corpus.Section two includes chapter 1 and chapter 2.From the perspective of linguistic typology,Chapter 1 classified adpotions into two categories:preposition and circumposition.This chapter highlights the classification of Bouyei adpositions according to the word class of the part introduced by preposition and segmental research on Bouyei circumpositions according to their constituents.Chapter 2 is also a classification research on Bouiyei adposition from the perspective of semantic.Section three is chapter 3.It is a diachronic study on the source,grammaticalization path and mechanism of Bouyei adpositions.Section four is chapter 4.This part emphasizes the syntactic function of Bouyei adpostions according to.different adposition type and different position in the sentence.It is also summarize the whole paper from the perspective of linguistic typology.The last part is conclusion.It sums up the content of each chapter,then indicates the disadvantages of current study and suggestions for further research.
