Mu Dan and Zhang Xianliang are two important writers in the field of modern and contemporary Chinese literature.In their lives,they both had the near-death experience.This particular experience had greatly influenced their creation,they were always inclined to repeat and reinforce this kind of experience in a variety of works.This kind of writing phenomenon with abnormal mental tendency may contain great explanation space.Based on a comprehensive study of the works and life experiences of two writers,this article attempts to use the psychodynamic theory to explore the psychological motivation of this phenomenon.It is found that behind this masochistic mentality,Freud's instinct for death is providing psychological impetus.Through the comparative analysis of Mudan and Zhangxianliang,there are differences in introversion and extraversion of the existing works and their behavior.The psychological factors which caused this difference can be attributed to the suppress of Mudan's superego and the fight of Zhang Xianliang's ID.Further analysis revealed that great madness of the whole social psychology which still has a certain degree of influence to the present was hidden under the suffering.From a broader perspective,Through the research of life experience and writing paradigm of Russian writer Dostoevsky,it is found that the writers of different times,regions and cultures produce intertextual phenomena in their creations because of their similar experiences.Through further comparative analysis,we discover the unique religious consciousness of Dostoevsky,differentiating from the humanistic spirit of Mudan and the value of seeking advantages and disadvantages of Zhang xianliang.
