This paper is a translation report based on the author's translation work of Dublin III Regulation, mainly referring to the parts of Introduction,Chapter 1 and Chapter 2.At present,Brexit affairs and new immigration policies recently announced by US government has pushed the immigration crisis to a new high, and European Union happens to be the hardest-hit area under the immigration waves.Considering the value of Dublin III Regulation to EU's immigration system, and the huge legal culture discrepancies between China and the West, especially in the field of immigration, the author of this paper expects this translation work could provide supplements and guidance to the translation of immigration documents.Under the guidance of Newmark's text-typology theory, focusing on the language characteristics and text-type features of the source text, the author has synthetically applied semantic translation and communicative translation as translation methods to the complicated long sentences, passive voice, archaisms, legal terms, pronouns and proper nouns, proposing to take a balance between the requests of being faithful to the original author and the target reader.
