An Empirical Study Of The Influence Of Rumination Level On Implicit Emotion Regulation In Romantic Relationship

Experiment 1 used experimental treatment of relationship threats and relationship positive condition to induce individual negative emotions or positive emotions towards their partners to explore the implicit emotion regulation in the romantic relationship and the meditation effect of rumination on implicit emotion regulation in the romantic relationship.Experiment 2 used partner categorization task to further explore the internal mechanism of implicit emotion regulation.The results show that:(1)under the control condition,there is no significant difference of between the group of the high level of rumination and the low level;(2)in both of explicit and implicit relationship threat condition,positive emotion changes towards their partners of low level of rumination group is significantly lower than the group of the high level of rumination;(3)in both of explicit and implicit relationship positive condition,positive emotion changes towards their partners of low level of rumination group is significantly lower than the group of the high level of rumination;(4)in relationship threat condition,contrast with the group of high level of rumination,the group of low level of the rumination respond to positive trait words significantly faster than negative trait words which means they have a tendency toward positive trait words.In posotive relationship condition,contrast with the group of high level of rumination,the group of low level of the rumination respond to negative trait words significantly faster than posotive trait words which means they have a tendency toward negative trait words.
