This translation report describes A Guide for Planning the Future of Our Language.Based on the functional equivalence theory and reader's response theory of Eugene Nida,this report analyzes and summarizes these theories' guidance and application.This translation project will not only help the ethnic groups in our country to protect and develop the languages of their speech communities,but also provides a template for government or social organizations to guide the ethnic groups' language work effectively.This translation report consists of five parts.The first part briefly introduces the document,authors,and publisher SIL.In the part two,the translator introduces the process of this translation project,including pre-translation preparations,translating the source text,proofreading,and revision.The third part is the introduction and application of Nida's functional equivalence theory and reader's response theory.The forth part,which is the main part of this translation report,introduces the application of translation strategies,methods,and skills based on the translation theories.In the last part,the translator describes the gains and limitations from this project.
