Tone is very important in people's daily life, because tone can express speakers' attitude.People may misunderstand each other if a improper tone was employed.Hence, modal particles teaching is extremely significant in teaching Chinese as a second language. However, foreign students have serious problems when they use modal particles, for example, modal particles “ne” and “ma” are misused, for the meanings of modal particles are intangible and hard to learn.Linguistic data from HSK dynamic Composition Corpus was classified, collated, analyzed, and the fact is that there are 3 errors available which are “misuse”,“misuse”,“omission” when foreign students use modal particle “ne”.The reason why foreign students commit such error can be account for 3 reasons. The first reason is that foreign students did not fully master the regulations of modal particle, the second reason is that they did not master the regulation of modal particle “ne” and the third reason is they did not distinguish the difference between two similar modal particle.Apart from that, the transfer of foreign students' mother tongue also affect their learning. At last, teachers didn't take modal particles teaching seriously and their attainments should be enhance.Based on the above problems, here are measures that will solve.Teachers should teach their students step by step, create a language environment where students can practice modal particles, teach every modal particle separately and train foreign students to learn on their own etc.
