Analysis Of Style Characteristic And Performance Of Spanish Folk Dance In Lalo "Symphonie Espagnole"

Symphonie espagnole is one of the worldly known violin pieces of (?)douard Lalo.Lalo is regarded as one of the leading figures of the 19th century nationalism in music.His works permeate the classic romantic and elegance in French music;also strongly express the features of Spanish folk dances.This paper analyses the styles of Habanera and Flamenco dances in Symphonie espagnole and tries to probe the styles and rules that Lalo employed when he creatively developed the native music language of Spain.Also,how to apply these music features to violin playing will also be discussed.The paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter mainly introduces the origin and theoretic significance of this paper and the background of Symphonie espagnole.In the second and third chapter,I elaborate the basic forms and styles of Habanera and Flamenco dances,and generalize the characteristics of these dances in Symphonie espagnole.In the last chapter,I discuss the employment of some particular techniques in violin playing to realize the music characteristics based on my previous findings in Spanish dances.This paper analyses the music styles and playing methods of Symphonie espagnole in order to help people developing a deeper understanding of (?)douard Lalo,the Spanish music and the 19th century nationalism in music.For violin playing and teaching,this paper could also be a great assistance in using the proper violin techniques and capturing the music image more accurately in Symphonie espagnole.
