Risk-making decision is currently studied across a variety of areas in psychology, health care, and economics. One of the best known lines of research in decision making comes from‘‘Prospect Theory’’ which states in part that an individual’s willingness to make a risky choice will depend on whether the decision outcomes are framed as gains or losses. The study one examined the impact of framing effects on performance in the Balloon Analogue Risk Task(BART).Some undergraduate participants were assigned to play the BART as either a gains task in which they had to pump up an animated balloon in order to win money(Group GBART)or as a losses task in which pumping up the balloon was necessary to avoid losing money(Group LBART).The study two examined the influences on risk making decision from the impact of framing effects and ego depletion. We propose that framing effects and ego depletion cause risk making decision.Ego depletion increases risk-taking,as well as the impact of framing effects were reduced when the maker in high ego depletion. Two of the study hypotheses were confirmed.First, participants faced with a losses-framed task(the LBART)were significantly riskier than those faced with a gains-framed task(the GBART)in study one.The participants were manipulated the level of ego depletion using Stroop and assigned to play the BARTs,Results support the assumption that framing effects and ego depletion cause risk making decision.risk-taking is increased when individuals find them-selves in a state of reduced cognitive self-control resources larger(high ego-depletion)in both BARTs,besides, the impact of framing effects were reduced when the maker in high ego depletion.Above all, this study examined the impact of framing effects on performance in the BART.And find that Ego depletion increasing risk-taking,as well as reducing framing effects.
