Popular science work is a bridge between the public and scientific advances,and plays an increasingly important role in helping people to establish a correct outlook on the world.In recent years,more and more popular science works are introduced into China,so the translation of popular science works is particularly important.However,the research on the translation of popular science work is rare,which forms a sharp contrast to its importance.Therefore,we should find out some effective translation tactics for popular science works by making a research on it.Semantic translation and communicative translation are two important and distinctive translation methods brought up by Newmark,which are his main contributions to translation studies.This report which is based on the translation of a popular science work--Einstein's Dice and Schr?dinger's Cat,takes communicative translation as the guidance.Many suitable strategies and tactics proposed by Newmark are applied to the translation.This practice has proved that communicative translation is suitable for translating popular science works.
