| With the arrival of mobile Internet era,highly competitive environment and complex job requirements make the organization have to redefine the employees in the workplace — — from passive to active perspective.Feedback seeking behavior is a special kind of proactive behavior,a number of western empirical studies have shown that feedback seeking behavior can help employees to have better relationship with their supervisors and better job satisfaction,substantially contribute to performance enhancement and goal attainment.There were many factors that can influence feedback seeking behavior,among numerous context variables,supervisors’ leadership played a key role in the work life of employees.Authentic leadership was regarded as a root construct that can incorporate transformational,ethical or other forms of positive leadership.However,there were few empirical researches to explore the relationship between authentic leadership and employee feedback-seeking behavior.Hence,our research tried to explore the mechanism and boundary conditions of authentic leadership on feedback-seeking behavior under the background of Chinese culture,and provide more theory and practical advice of how to improve employee feedback-seeking behavior.The present research tried to examine the effectiveness of authentic leadership,and the mechanism of authentic leadership,trust,traditionality on feedback-seeking behavior.By investigating 310 employees in the city of Beijing,Shanghai,Shenzhen,Zhengzhou,etc and using the Confirmative Factor Analysis,Correlation,Hierarchical Regression,Bootstrap and other statistics methods,our findings were showed as follows:(1)Authentic leadership had positive impact both on feedback-seeking inquiry and feedback-seeking monitor.(2)Affect-based trust fully mediated the positive relationship between authentic leadership and feedback-seeking inquiry;affect-based trust partly mediated the positive relationship between authentic leadership and feedback-seeking monitor.(3)Traditionality moderated the negative relationship between trust and feedback-seeking inquiry.(4)Authentic leadership,trust,traditionality,feedback-seeking inquiry constituted a moderated mediation between the four variables: trust mediated the positive relationship between authentic leadership and feedback-seeking inquiry;traditionality moderated the negative relationship between authentic leadership and feedback-seeking inquiry in such a way that the relationship will be stronger for people higher,rather than lower,in traditionality. |
