This paper takes the aspectual system of Dongtai dialect as the object of study,study via the method of describing and inducing.The whole paper is divided into four chapters:The first chapter is preface,firstly introduces the geography and history of Dongtai City as well as its dialect,the research outcomes of Dongtai and its neighboring courtiers' dialect,and the Dongtai dialect phonetic system.Secondly,this paper reviews the research,including the aspectual system in Mandarin and in Chinese dialects.And then,this paper explains the research purpose,relatively significance,methodology.Finally,this paper explains corpus sources and symbol explanation.The second chapter makes a detailed description and analysis about the aspect system of Dongtai dialect.The aspect system is divided into six types including Perfective Aspect,Progressive Aspect,Durative Aspect,Experiential Aspect,Inchoate Aspect,Perfect Aspect.The marks of aspect include "e,(?1)""le,(? 1)""zaixia(??)""zai(?)""e2(? 2)""zhe(?)""guo(?)""qilai(??)""e3(?3)""le2(?2)".This chapter will make a detailed description of the marks which includes locale,the meaning of expression and the limitation of verbs.The third chapter makes a detailed description and analysis about the mood system of Dongtai dialect.The mood system is divided into three types,including Frequentative Mood,Tentative Mood and Transitory Mood.The marks of mood include "V a(?)Vde(?)""VV""V xiazi(??)""V kan(?)".This chapter will make a detailed description of the marks which includes locale,the meaning of expression and the limitation of verbs.The fourth chapter is the conclusion part,which summarize the main content of this paper as well as indicates the innovations and weaknesses of this paper,and put forward some tentative ideas for the investigation and study of related problems in the future.
