Nietzsche's View Of Time

The traditional metaphysics is a kind of philosophy that rejects or oppose time,because of the essentialism in it.As an opponent of the Staticism and the subverter of the traditional thoughts,Nietzsche wants to restore the meaning of time by philosophy.Traditional philosophy either divided the world into two categories: the world of the phenomenon and the world of the eternal,or only affirmed the latter.Nietzsche,however,as a philosopher of becoming,sees the whole world as a dynamic process,and he sees nothing but eternal stream of becoming,and becoming as the only reality also means the "resurrection" of time,and time has get its own meaning.Nietzsche originally grasped the concept of time from becoming,human get a formal understanding by the rhythm,and the alteration between “move” and “rest”cause the time-feeling of human;So,time is no longer a stream with constant speed,but are discrete points,so to speak,time is a simplification for the real becoming.After he moved his sights to issues about “it was” and history,not only he found the unconscious mental activity of human as the origin of all experience and time,but also a phenomena that humans were in a predicament of time,namely:experiencing a conflict that between the will and becoming which have different directions;Becoming refers to "the past",it turns everything into an irreversible "became","the past" will not be annihilated,however,it will somehow here again,invaded the present moment.But the will direct to “future”.Here,the will is characterized by the repulsion to be a totally passive becoming,it ask for participation in becoming and voluntary creation.And every moments as the start points of the will are damaged because of the return of "the past",it is equal with harm to the will.So Nietzsche uses non-historical forces to limit historical factors,in other words,human must create a healthy horizon that can be appropriately linked to "the past" and turn it into a creative factor.And the eternal recurrence as Nietzsche's mature thought is the correct way to resolve the trouble.The eternal recurrence canceled absolute sequence order among different time points,and that provided actual condition for will to power's selfovercoming.In eternal recurrence,willing forward is also backward,more important is that the eternal recurrence emphasizes self-regression of every moments,so any willing is in fact a self-willing.Finally,will to power get to the reconciliation with time,and the affirmation to everything has been reached.
