Study On Drama Translation From The Perspective Of Eco-translatology

Drama is a special literary form that is readable and performable,and because of its dual characteristics of "literariness" and "performativity",it becomes the most problematic and the most easily overlooked area in translation studies. This also puts drama translators into a dilemma: to highlight the "literariness" of the translation, or to emphasize the "performativity" of the translation. With the deep development of international exchange and the promotion of drama status in China, the field of translation has gradually raised the focus on the translation of drama in recent years. The research mainly focuses on drama translation criticism, principles and strategies in drama translation,the status of translators in drama translation and so on,while few study of drama translation is made from the perspective of Eco-Translatology.Eco-Translatology was raised by Professor Hu Gengshen in recent year, who introduced a series of terms and concepts such as "ecological environment" and "survival of the fittest" in Darwin's studies. He believes that translation is "a translator's adaptation and selection activities in a translational eco-environment",emphasizing the translation environment and the translator's adaptation and selection. The basic translation principles of Eco-Translatology are multidimensional adaptation and adaptive selection, and the translation methods described in this paper include the three-dimensional adaptive transformation, which means adaptive transformation from the linguistic dimension,cultural dimension and communicative dimension.This paper describes the research background and significance of the task on the basis of the author's translation of the drama script Uncles and Aunts. It discusses the translation process of Uncles and Aunts from before-translation preparation,translation procedure and after-translation improvement. The paper also introduces theories including Eco-Translatology, the translator's subjectivity and adaptation and selection. It then analyzes the translation of the narrator's language and the dialogues respectively in details from the perspective of three-dimensional transformation.In short, drama translation is not a simple text conversion,subjective initiative of the translator plays a decisive role in completing outstanding translations.Eco-Translatology provides a new standard for the evaluation of drama translation,and it is of reference value both to translation theory and translation practice.
