A Report On The Translation Of Privacy:What Everyone Needs To Know(Chapter 9)

This is a translation project on the ninth chapter of Privacy and Security from the book Privacy: What Everyone Needs to Know.This report illustrates the links between privacy and security of individuals,information,cyber,and even the state,taking America as an example.This translation project is aimed at making Chinese readers realize the importance of privacy as well as its connection with all kinds of security,and enhance the public's awareness of privacy;arouse the interest of scholars in research on related topics to push improvement of the relevant laws and regulations.This project makes an analysis of some examples in this translation under the guidance of eco-translatology,in which the translator's selective adaptation to the eco-environment and adaptive selection in linguistic,cultural,and communicative dimensions are illustrated.This report contains five chapters.The first is an introduction to the background and significance of the project;the second is a brief introduction to the source text,including its content,authors,and text style;in the third,some information of eco-translatology including its definition,core concepts,principle and its guiding role in this project are illustrated briefly;the fourth focuses on the case study of the translation project,presenting how the translator's adaptation and selection are achieved.The last is the translator's experience and limitations in this project.
