As a new paradigm for translation research,Eco-Translatology is receiving more and more attention from the translation circle. It provides an ecological perspective on the comprehensive study of translation. The theory emphasizes the dominating role of the translator, and it offers original description and analysis of such concepts as translation environment, translator's adaptation and selection. In the light of the Eco-Translatology theory put forward by Prof.Hu Gengshen, this report proceeds with a case study based on the writer's field practice as an interpreter for a Juncao industry training course,by using the approaches of comparison and contrast, aiming at finding out how beginner interpreters locate themselves in a translation environment,so as to help improve their adaptation to the environment and make adaptive selection accordiingly, through applying multi-dimensional transformations. It is found that:1)the awareness of translator-centered position can help beginner interpreters grasp the overall translational eco-environment;2)multi-dimensional transformations of the beginner interpreter is conducive to their making adaptive selection in a translation process;3)the interpreter;smulti-dimensional transformation help produce user-friendly interpretation.Hopefully, this report will benefit other beginner interpreters like me with its tentative suggestions concerning interpreting practice, and the use of eco-translatology theory may well become a comparatively new perspective on the study of interpretation.
