In Mandarin Chinese vocabulary,the clutch verb is a large and relatively special group of words,one of its biggest characteristics is that it can be separated from each other.And because of this special and complexity characteristic,making Vietnamese students in the acquisition of Chinese clutch verb are often subject to bias,especially verb-object clutch verb with the complement.In Vietnam,although there are some studies on this field involved Chinese verb-object clutch verb,but very few studies really focus on Chinese verb-object clutch verb,and research on verb-object clutch verb with the complement bias is even more rare.Therefore,after decided to based on previous research results,under the support of comparative analysis theory and error analysis theory,using the questionnaire survey and data statistical analysis software(SPSS),I conducted a comprehensive empirical study on Vietnamese intermediate and advanced students' acquisition and mastery situation of five kinds of complement,including verb-object clutch verb with directional complement,resultative complement,potential complement,quantity complement and degree complement.Based on the statistical analysis of questionnaire data,this paper probes into some rules and problems of errors and causes of errors,thus,puts forward some corresponding strategies and implications for the teaching of verb-object clutch verb with the complement in Vietnam,in order to reduce the occurrence of errors in the acquisition of Chinese complement.The result of this research shown the advanced level of Vietnamese students in acquisition and understand theverb-object clutch verb with the complement is quite pessimistic,in the acquisition process some errors often occur,and most of the errors are wrong in the “complement position".There are many causes for the errors,but the main errors are negative influence of the mother tongue,negative influence of the target language,special characteristic ofclutch verb,the lack of teaching materials and teaching.Through the specific analysis of the causes of errors,the author puts forward some suggestions according to the aspects of textbook compiling,teachers' explanation and practice design,and laid special emphasisto make students understand the concept,characteristics and usage of clutch verb,then step by step to extend another form of compliment words in teaching,practice it repeatedly,pay more attention to the combination of context,develop the students' sense of the extended form of the verb-object clutch with complement,in order to help Vietnamese students to reduce errors in studied of verb-object clutchwith complement.
