As the basis of Chinese teaching, the teaching material is the bridge connecting the teaching and learning. It plays an important role in the Chinese teaching. The Verb-object clutch can be combined and be detached in usage as a special grammatical unit, at the same time, it has a variety of extended forms, so it becomes the difficulty in teaching Chinese as a second language. Based on this, we believe that the study of verb-object clutch processing and associated grammar points can find the strengths and weaknesses, and provide useful suggestions for the preparation of Chinese teaching materials.This paper first outlines the existing research on the nature and extended forms of the Verb-object clutch, take the more widely used teaching materials "Chinese Course "and" Integrated Chinese" as the research object, using the method of quantitative analysis and comparative analysis confirm the Verb-object clutch in the two textbooks according to certain standards and investigate the words notes and vocabulary reproduction rate of the verb-object clutch in the two sets of materials. Then study extended forms and their frequency of the verb-object clutch both selected in the two sets of teaching materials in the CCL Corpus, then determine the grammar points associated with the verb-object clutch, and do a comparative study of these grammar points and related forms of exercise in the two sets of teaching materials. From the comparative analysis of the two sets of textbooks we found the lack of processing of verb-object clutch and related grammar points. First of all, there is no mark for the verb-object clutch in the two sets of materials, which is likely to bring trouble to the students. Secondly, word reproduction rate of the Verb-object clutch is low and most of them with a simple one-to-one English translation as word comment, it is easy to cause bias because of language negative transfer; Again, the commonly used extended forms of the verb-object clutch are not enough in the text of the two sets of teaching materials, and ignored the particularity in grammar points and practice which should be listed separately.We propose some suggestions the processing of the Verb-object clutch and their associated grammars to solve the above problems in the Chinese teaching materials. First, we propose special part-of-speech tagging, which can be marked for a particular word, so that students can distinguish from the common verbs and verb-object phrase. In addition, the note of the verb-object clutch should strengthen the comparison of Chinese and English, combine the vocabulary with grammar notes. Secondly, the Verb-object clutch should be listed as a grammar point, and should systematically and comprehensively introduce its own peculiarities and common extended forms, increase the reproduction rate of the key verb-object clutch in the textbooks. The preparation of the related grammar points should combine with the Verb-object clutch, and reflect in the preparation of the illustrative sentences, the combination of both should penetrate the text and exercise. The associated exercises should follow the "controlled-control less-uncontrolled" principle. Expect to achieve the purpose to promote the verb-object teaching through these methods.
