Floating children is a special group that occurred during the rapid growth of China's economy.They follow their parents into a strange city, and appear poor social adaptation facing new environment. The family is most micro environment which influences children's development.Previous studies have found that factors such as family function, parents' education way will affect the development of the floating children's social adaptation. But the empirical study of parental educational involvement as an important family factors impact on children's social adaptation was rare in the domestic. Therefore, this study will from floating children's parental educational involvement this new perspective to investigate the relationship between children's social adaptation. In order to provide scientific basis for education policy that improve floating children's mental health.This study investigates systematically the relationship between parental educational involvement and social adaptation of "floating children". 631 floating children as a convenient sample were enrolled and the method of questionnaire was employed. The primary purpose of the first study is testing characteristics of' floating children's parental educational involvement, as well as the differences in the different socio-demographic variables. The second study explores the relationship between parental educational involvement and learning adaption of floating children,and mediating effect of children's perceived academic competence, self-regulation behavior and perceptions of the sources of control of their successes and failures in cognitive. The third study mainly discusses the relationship between parental educational involvement and psychological adaptation of floating children, as well as moderating effect of sense of coherence. The main results are presented as follow:(1) Generally speaking, the level of floating children's parental educational involvement at the middle level. Mother's involvement is significantly higher than father's. Parental educational involvement of floating children is significant differences between parental education levels,children's grade, but not reached significant difference on children's gender. In addition, Mother's involvement is significant differences normal children and floating children.(2) There is significant positive correlation between floating children's parental intellectual involvement, behavior management involvement and emotional involvement, and children's perceived academic competence, self-regulation behavior and perceptions of the sources of control of their successes and failures in cognitive and academic performance.(3) The father's intellectual involvement of floating children and children's academic performance is completely mediated by children's perceived academic competence,and the father's emotional involvement and children's academic performance is partly mediated by children's perceived academic competence. Moreover,the mother's emotional involvement and children's academic performance is partly mediated by children's perceived academic competence.(4) There is significant positive correlation between floating children's parental intellectual involvement, emotional involvement and children's life satisfaction, positive emotions; and negative correlation between floating children's parental intellectual involvement, emotional involvement and children's problem behavior, negative emotions.(5) The father's emotional involvement and children's life satisfaction is moderate by children's sense of coherence,and the children's sense of coherence also plays a moderate effect between mother's intellectual involvement, emotional involvement and children's positive emotions. Furthermore, the children's sense of coherence plays moderate effect between father's emotional involvement and children's problem behavior, negative emotions, as well as the mother's emotional involvement and children's problem behavior,negative emotions.
