In order to further strengthen the friendship between China and other developing countries, the Chinese government has been making great efforts to promote the cooperation in human resources with other developing countries. The reporter participated in the 2016 Seminar on IT Application in Taxation for African Countries, which was sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM)and organized by the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), MOFCOM.Involving 26 officials from nine African countries such as Ethiopia, Ghana, and South Sudan, the seminar was designed to introduce IT application in taxation in China to African officials, in the hope of helping those African countries promote their IT construction and application.The reporter participated in the 22-day seminar and provided interpretation services for it, including liaison interpretation for daily life and visits, consecutive interpretation for some lectures and symposiums. The major difficulties and issues the reporter encountered include difficulties in pre-interpretation preparation, difficulties in interpreting terminologies, as well as difficulties in understanding the content. The reporter analyzed corresponding reasons for each difficulty and carried out solutions,such as contacting the sponsor and speaker actively, expanding the relevant knowledge by fast learning,memorizing the content according to the logic of information, and being confident and flexible.The reporter hopes that she can find her deficiencies and conduct targeted practices in the future. This report is expected to be beneficial to other interpreters in this field.
