Practice Report On The Consecutive Interpreting For The Visit Of Ministry Of Education, Youth And Sport(Cambodia) To Guangxi University In 2017

This article is a practice report on consecutive interpretation,including Chinese to English interpretation and English to Chinese interpretation.In June 2017,the author was given the task as the interpreter of the delegation of Ministry of Education,Youth and Sport(Cambodia)'s visit to Guangxi University.Ministry of Education,Youth and Sport(Cambodia)is a government department which is responsible for promoting and regulating the development of education,youth and sports in Cambodia.Mr.Touch,Deputy Secretary of State of Cambodia,head of the delegation,and Dr.Mithuna,the executive vice president of Kratie University of Cambodia,deputy head of the delegation led the Cambodian delegation to find an academic partner in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.Kratie University is an integrated university assisted by the Chinese government in the construction of Cambodia.Guangxi University,a comprehensive university of China,is located in Nanning.It is also famous for its academic reputation.Having known that,the Cambodian delegation hopes to jointly promote the academic establishment of Kratie University with Guangxi University in agriculture and animal sciences.Therefore,they have an in-depth exchange with the College of Agronomy and the College of Zoological Sciences in terms of agronomic research and animal science research.This report summarizes the reports on the above tasks,and this report is mainly divided into five parts:task description,pre-interpretation preparation,case analysis,post-interpretation matters and conclusion.Chapter One Task Description describes the task background and the author's mission.Chapter Two pre-interpretation preparation mainly introduces the long-term,short-term preparation and on-site preparation for this task.Chapter Three Case Analysis mainly discusses language processing of this task.The author describes sources of the cases,terminologies processing methods and strategies,logic combining and unit conversion and interpreting methods and strategies.Chapter Four is the Post-Interpretation Matters.The author introduces the evaluation of the quality of the interpretation by the clients.Chapter Five is the conclusion of this task.This report aims to analyze and summarize the author's interpreting practice.At the same time the author hopes that this practice can provide some references for other translators who are engaged in interpretation tasks of the same type.
