After the 19th century,the Christian large-scale entry into China,especially after the Opium wars the country is wide open,churches in China spread quickly.In order to achieve the purpose of the mission,the church attaches great importance to the construction of the Ministry of affairs,in particular the establishment of education to promote religion.Church schools at all levels all over in the land of China are springing up and rapid development,with a strong religious character of Church education prevailed in modern Chinese society.At the beginning of the establishment of the Church Secondary School,because of conflicts between Western culture and Chinese traditional culture,the missionaries paid attention to cater to the Chinese society,along with its localization development.As the national crisis deepened,a series of dramatic changes in the modern society,nationalism prevails.Since the 1920s,the church education,which is regarded as the cultural invasion,began to face the violent impact of the non-Christian movement and the recovery of the right to education.Public opinion and knowledge community of the church education vigorously criticized,strengthen government mandated regaining education rights and school internal anti Christian forces,the self adjustment of the Church Secondary School is slow to speed up localization,filing as a symbol,significant changes in the Church Secondary School educational aim,curriculum,students,teachers and funds team and school management,and so on.In this paper,a case study of Kaifeng Church Secondary School is carried out to explore the localization of the modern missionary middle schools through the deep excavation of the relevant documents.Through the analysis and demonstration of the historical data,the author thinks that the localization of Kaifeng Church Secondary School is affected by the internal and external pressure,and shows the characteristics of the combination of active and passive adjustment.It is a process of secularization and localization of China,in this process,the Kaifeng Church Secondary School opened due to internal and external pressure to downplay its religious color,meet the needs of social education,and constantly for the state power penetration,to adapt to the changes in social China.After the establishment of the new regime for the reception of the Church Secondary School,so that the localization process of the Church Secondary School stopped abruptly,the Church Secondary School rapidly disappeared in the Chinese land,its localization efforts are also attributed to end.From Kaifeng Church Secondary School development process,we can see some of the education development in modern China in miniature.Meanwhile,the Church Secondary School localization reform conforms to the trendof the times and provide historical thinking and reflection of our current education reform and development,has implications for the secondary school moral education and the development of the localization of the Church.
